Worth the extra fifty dollars in exactly one situation: your utility offers a rebate or an off-peak rate that requires a connected, demand-response-capable charger. Note that Grizzl-E lists UL and cUL for this model but does not list ENERGY STAR the way it does for the non-connected Classic, so confirm before filing a rebate that names it.
