Genuinely excellent hardware — buffered parking mode captures the seconds before an impact, not just after, which is the difference between useful footage and a video of someone driving away. Plug it into a powered socket and it records while you drive with no issues at all. The complication is parking mode, which needs the HK6 hardwire kit rated for 12 to 24 volts. Until Ford publishes what accessory power the Fathom actually provides, plan on either a powered outlet or a separate battery pack.
